Day Three: What’s On Your Mind?

When I sat down at my MacBook and typed in the URL “”, I had no idea what I was doing or where I would start. That was a few years ago. I then moved over to Blogger on Gmail and started posting my poetry because I wanted a place to post and share with my friends. I think I was intimidated by WordPress because I was unsure of the navigation of the site and of all the different places to click and wordage I didn’t understand. I recently came back to WordPress and I am happy I did. As an artistic person I enjoy being able to make my blog look the way I want it to, to such fine detail. I’m having a lot of fun learning about different aspects of this site that make my blog so personalized and interesting (like linking my Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc). Zero to Hero is the reason I am learning it.

The time I am choosing to elaborate on is when I came back to WordPress for the second time, which was two days ago. I am a singer just trying to make it in this new-fangled, technology-driven world. I have very much ignored the fact that you basically need to be visible everywhere on social media to even begin to grab the attention of venues, record labels, managers, etc. A few of my friends over the years have told me that I need a blog. The idea of writing down my thoughts and sharing them terrified me, though. I suppose I was either afraid that people wouldn’t care or, worse, that they would think I was crazy for what goes on inside my head. But it’s not about spilling the beans of the deepest part of your soul. I mean, you can do that, but it’s also about grabbing readers attention and sharing interesting or engaging things. It’s about discovering other blogs and seeing what other people think are engaging. It’s amazing how many interesting people there are in the blogging world. And the more I blog, the more comfortable I become with that. It even gives me new ideas about things to post.

I am very glad I feel more comfortable with blogging, WordPress, and putting my thoughts into the world. The reason I am here is to share with my fans, friends, people out there who stumble upon what I write, and to hopefully gain some new fans and friends in the process. There is a person here behind all the music and the girl on stage with thoughts, opinions, questions, ideas and a lot more. It’s nice to meet you all.
